Building the Future from the Ground Up

Biochar can sequester carbon in soil – so why aren’t farmers using it?

One of the most effective and long-lasting ways farmers can move carbon from the atmosphere into the soil is to use biochar. But if it is so effective, why don’t we see biochar everywhere? Join the Congressional Soils Caucus on Friday, September 10 at 1 pm ET, where Dr. David Laird, President of N-Sense Inc. and Prof Emeritus Iowa State University, and Dr. Jim Amonette, of the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and Washington State University, will explain what biochar is, how it works, and what needs to happen for biochar to reach its potential in an integrated biochar-bioenergy industry.
