TSI Systems for Carbonization

TSI is the leading system designer and supplier for Dryer Island systems in large industrial wood pellet plants. Using their single pass rotary drum drying technology, they have modified the process to allow the necessary attributes to achieve the pyrolysis and carbonization of biomass. By allowing the high temperature, low oxygen environment within their system, they have been able to achieve a variety of levels of carbonization. From a light level of torrefaction, to the creation of biochar. TSI rotary drum torreactors are on the leading edge of carbonization through their control of temperature and dwell time within the system. There is currently a 2 TPH system in operation in Louisiana and there are several other projects in development for the creation of biocoal, biochar, and other applications.
