Why be a Biochar 2024 Gold Sponsor?
When I learned about USBI’s mission (from Jeff Waldon - Restoration Bioproducts), I realized that MaxSum and USBI values aligned in two important ways. First, we agree that the investment community and USBI must lead by example and take the action needed to grow the biochar industry now – not stand on the sidelines. Second, USBI and I both believe in the worth of biochar’s staggeringly positive impacts - increased crop yields, reduced strain on water supplies, mending of distressed economies, etc.
Biochar 2024 sponsorship is an opportunity to change the calculus of the biochar industry and let developers know that carbon removal is not just for the big guys. By providing structure and funding, MaxSum can help biochar projects move through the inertia and successfully scale up. I see this as an opportunity to share my many years of experience on Wall Street and give back.
What are your primary goals or expectations from sponsoring this event?
My hope is to have conversations with developers who are open to the idea that each of us may have limitations that are standing in the way of growing our businesses. Engaging a parent company that offers this missing expertise can make a world of difference. I also hope to help businesses understand that, when MaxSum provides funding as a parent company, it does not get involved in the day-to-day operations of biochar production but plays a role in the business management and financial aspects of the project.
