NCT focuses exclusively on producing biochar/biocarbon products engineered to our customers’ specifications.  NCT has unique capabilities to tailor carbon for energy content, fixed carbon content, volatile matter content, ash content, pore sizing and ratios, adsorptivity, density, hardness, durability, reactivity, pH, product sizing (from fine powders at average sizing of 16 microns up to 2 cm x 6 cm pellets) and inclusion of additives at multiple stages of the process for enhanced performance in a range of applications. NCT’s patents expressly enable addition of macro nutrients (e.g., phosphorus), micro nutrients (e.g., magnesium) and beneficial bacteria.   

NCT is committed to product consistency and predictability. Our expertise in specialty carbon production and optimization of nano-scale carbon properties enables production of consistently high-performing products. Extensive controls ensure predictably consistent product every time.

NCT’s sustainability profile is advantageous for customers with requirements or preferences for sustainable products:  NCT’s feedstock (and source of process energy) is PEFC certified sustainable biomass.  Third-party analyses confirm that NCT one of the lowest life-cycle environmental footprints for commercial-scale production of carbons in the world.

NCT operates the largest advanced biocarbon production facility in North America and has the largest production capacity in the biochar/biocarbon industry.  Feedstock partnerships with large public and private suppliers provide feedstock supply chain security and a path for rapid and efficient growth. Over 1 million tons of feedstock are available to NCT annually from six major suppliers within 50 miles of the company’s production facilities.  NCT has permitted and is rapidly advancing development of three additional production plants (two in California, one in North Carolina).
